How Native Plants Bring Life to Your Garden
Local naturalist Jan McGowan will explain the many benefits of using native plants in our yards and gardens. Guests will learn what is a native plant, and the various ways natives support healthy soils, climate, pollinators, birds, and humans. Guests will also discover how and why native plants save gardeners time, money, and effort. Unfortunately, most of the plants available in nurseries are not “native.” This presentation will explain how to find native plants for your landscaping needs. It will also share resources for garden planning, locally and on the internet. Hope to see you there!

Triangle of Protection
The triangle of protection is an important aspect for homeowners to understand as it relates to the three reasons families lose their homes, and showing them what needs they might have overlooked as a homeowner. Having homeowners insurance is important, but having a total loss to your home is statistically the least likely reason families are forced out of their home.

Designing with Native Plants at Home
This talk will introduce the home gardener to incorporating natives into their landscape without sacrificing beauty and curb appeal.
